1 John 4:17

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

As a growing believer in Christ, I once ministered healing to a deaf man a couple of times and he couldn’t hear after praying for him. At a time I ministered healing to a partially blind woman and still she couldn’t see. I’ve had other unpleasant circumstances where I tried ministering healing and there was no physical manifestation. You might have thought perhaps I was full of myself but then I didn’t go in my own might but at the words of Jesus that says we should preach the gospel and heal the sick. These experiences are enough temptations for me to stylishly begin to doubt the integrity of God’s word that says “as He(Jesus) is, so am I in this world.” After all Jesus never recorded any failure in administering healing to men while on earth. Everyone Jesus ministered healing to were healed. It’s enough to make me begin to doubt the words of Jesus that says in John 14:12 that “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

But then beloved, as believers in Christ, sons and daughters of God, our lives are not defined by our circumstances and experiences neither are they defined by our failures and successes. Our lives are defined by the word of God. We are who God Says we are no matter what come may. Jesus is our definition as believers. In Him we find our identity. He is our explanation. God’s word is sure.

A lot of factors might be responsible for me not getting them healed but one of the factors sure is not that God’s word is untrue about me. This is because the same me by the virtue of Jesus life in me before and after those experiences have ministered to someone with a noticeable stomach ache/disorder and she got healed instantly. I’ve got people filled with the Holyghost with the evidence of praying in tongues. I’ve had someone got healed instantly from a serious back ache under my ministry without me laying hands on him.

Beloved, the bottom line today is that God wants you to know and be strongly rooted in the accomplishment of Christ for you. Because of Christ’s accomplishment we can boldly say “as He is, so we are in this world”

Meditate about the life of Jesus in the Bible, that’s the exact definition of your own life too. Don’t let experiences or circumstances define your life, focus on Jesus for He is your life, and take steps wherever necessary. Don’t leave this earth without living the life of Jesus to the full.
