Walk in Wisdom

Written by Tosin Lawal

James 1:5 NIV

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Yesterday we established from God’s word that as children of God we do not lack wisdom for Christ has been made wisdom unto us. He is our wisdom. We further established that lacking wisdom according to James 1:5 means not walking in wisdom, that is, lacking the expression of wisdom in us.

Hence, we know what lacking wisdom means in the context of we believers. Even though wisdom is the same for all believers, our walk is how we apprehend it. You see, lacking wisdom is not because God has not given you. It’s simply because you are not receiving. You are not taking advantage of the wisdom of God in you. Wisdom is available for all believers.

To walk in wisdom is to walk in the light of the instructions that Jesus is giving you. Your wisdom is actually not strategies, but the person of Jesus. Jesus knows it all. God’s word in John 1:3 NIV  that “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” But you cannot effectively walk in wisdom if you are a person not given to communing with the father through His word, worship, meditation and prayer. A person given to communion is always well positioned to hearing Jesus, the wisdom of God in him.

Walk in wisdom and never live your life as one who has gotten no wisdom in him. Because Jesus is your wisdom, you can boldly say that you know what to do in all situations. You can boldly say you know how to do what to do. You are wise for Jesus is your wisdom.

CONFESSION

I know what to do per time,
I know how to do what to do,
I am wise for Jesus is my wisdom.
