Thankfulness 2
Devotional Reading: give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 ESV
Thankfulness is part of the indescribable communion between God and His children. In this communion rests one of the most powerful benefits that come from a thankful heart. A thankful heart helps produce an enriched prayer life. There are many places in the Word where prayer and giving thanks are mentioned hand in hand (Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18).
The Lord coupled thanksgiving and prayer not so much for His sake, but for ours. When we begin our prayer time by giving thanks for what He has done and all that He has given us, our cares fall away and burdens get lifted.
If you are looking for a deeper and more intimate prayer life, start by giving thanks to the Lord and see what a fruitful time of fellowship it leads to with Him! Enter into His gates with thanksgiving today and let everything else fall to the wayside as you enjoy time with your Father.
Prayer and Confession
Thank you Jesus!
