Don’t Be Deceived

Devotional Reading: “Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” – Gen. 3:1 KJV

It’s a common saying that ‘the devil cannot save anyone but he is powerful.’ The latter clause is not true. From scriptures, it’s clearly revealed that the power or strength of the devil lies in his ability to deceive or manipulate believers (hence, the need for knowledge). As believers, we are superior to the devil for we have the spirit of Christ in us. Unfortunately, many are still subject to the devil to the degree of their ignorance of the word of God.

The devil tempting Eve wasn’t the problem, but it was for them (Adam and Eve) falling for his scheme. Jesus was also tempted and he overcame by the word (Matt. 4).

Being tempted isn’t the problem, but the bigger challenge is when you do not know or trust the word of God written for you. God already provided healing, prosperity, provisions and all other good things of life that you’ll need. For example, the devil in his deceit says to you that being sick is normal even as a believer. As harmless as this may seem, believing that will make you never to enjoy certain blessings and promises of God.

However, that which you lack is a pointer to the area of your life that you need more knowledge and insight, for the devil capitalizes on man’s ignorance. Do you lack a thing? Study God’s word on such and hold on to the promises of God for you.

Prayer and Confession
I am born again, I am fortified and live only by the truth of God’s word. Satan’s deceit do not have a hold on me in Jesus name. Amen
