God Is Always Willing

Key Text: And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped Him, saying, Lord, if Thou wilt, Thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth His hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. Matthew 8:2-3 KJV

Many believers accept that God has power, but they quietly struggle with whether He is willing to use that power for them. They believe God can do great things, but they are not sure He wants to do those things in their own lives. The leper in this passage did not doubt Jesus’ ability. He said, “Thou canst.” His uncertainty was about willingness. That same question still lives in many hearts today. People wonder if God is too busy, too displeased, or too distant to intervene.

Jesus answered that doubt immediately by saying, “I will.” Not “I will think about it.” Not “Let us see later.” He said, “I will.” This reveals something powerful about God’s nature. God is not reluctant to help. He is not stingy with mercy. He does not fold His arms waiting for you to become perfect before He responds. His willingness flows from His love, not from your performance. Many people delay their breakthrough because they are trying to earn what God is already willing to give by grace.

Understanding God’s willingness removes fear from faith. You stop approaching God as if you must persuade Him. Instead, you come boldly, knowing His heart is inclined toward you. Faith now rests not only on what God can do, but on what He desires to do. When you know God is willing, prayer becomes conversation with a loving Father rather than negotiation with a difficult authority. God’s ability makes all things possible. His willingness makes those possibilities personal.

Prayer and Confession
Father, I thank You that You are both able and willing. I reject every thought that says You are reluctant to bless, guide, or help me. I receive Your love and Your readiness to act on my behalf. I come to You with confidence, knowing that Your heart is open toward me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
