United in Purpose

Kayode Emmanuel
1Corinthians 1:10
“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment”.

One out of many illustrations the Lord uses to explain the church of Christ is the picture of the human body. Every parts of the body has it’s own specific function which equates individual being given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Apostle Paul pleaded for the unity of the Corinthian church that they should live in harmony with each other, with no division in the church. So also today, there are people of diverse believe and practices but it must be our desire not to allow the differences be a tool unto separation for the common goal of the church, but rather as an instrument for growth. The ministry gift given to the church is to perfect the saints for the work of the ministry till we all come in the unity of faith.
You as an entity, see to it that you uphold the unity in your church, do not be a partaker to division. Whatever you disagree upon must be in the spirit of love so you can unanimously agree to the truth of the scripture for the growth and spread of the gospel.
