Swept Away
2 Corinthians 5:19
For God was in Christ, restoring the world to himself, no longer counting men’s sins against them but blotting them out. This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others.
I was on a rescue mission, wanting to rescue my own life from myself. But as much as I tried to, it was all impossible. I was committed to every church activities, offering to help in fellowship where there is no one to fill a space. I thought all of this will save me from the guilt of the past that was hunting me. The devil loves it, he loves to bring the pictures of my sins. Yes, I believe Jesus died for sins, but I didn’t just believe he has forgiven me just yet.
Then, I came across this text that freed me, “For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them…”(NLT) – For some, this is a hard nut to chew, it is a remarkable fix, and it is the truth that set men free from being slave to their past.
This is exactly what God does, when we receive Christ, he swept away our offenses like a cloud… he chose not to keep record of our sins. He freed us to move forward, no longer dragged down by our wrongs, cleaned us up to serve him now and forever.
CONFESSION
Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice,
I believe I am forgiven and I’m made clean by your precious blood.
