2 Corinthians 1:4
He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
Several times in one way or the other, we had to deal with one particular challenge or the other – debts, lack, failure and even a very serious sickness. And at that time, it looks like the whole world is crashing on us. Definitely, doubts and the thoughts of giving up, keeps coming. But a little encouragement from friends and family and even sermons we listen to, stirs us up to hold on and holdfast to our faith. Amazingly, beyond our understanding,
God does what He does best, He helps us walk through that phase and win. And then we begin to comfort people and encourage those who are passing through what we have passed through.
Paul like us had a similar experience, when he and his crew were faced with persecutions but he learned to find a purpose in his own pain by comforting the Corinthians church.
We are not asked to deny our pain, but has we turn to God for his comfort and love in the midst of trial, we can be sure that what we pass through empowers us to help others. We can find purpose in our pain.
CONFESSION
I recognize every challenge I might be facing, I am not drowned by them, but find purpose in them. Amen
