You are not of the World
John 17:14
I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world…
Jesus emphatically said about the Pharisees that they were from beneath, which implies they are of this world while he was from above. Sometimes it’s sadens my heart when believers who are purchased by the sacrifice of Christ fail to acknowledge and know that we are no longer in the same class with those who are not of faith being ignorant of this made many to be subject to the elements of the world.
Our opening scripture was Jesus’ words to his disciples, “they are not of the world”, and this includes every believers too (verse 20). “of” here is a primary preposition denoting origin. Just as a U.S ambassador in Nigeria could boldly declare that even though he lives in Nigeria at this given time, he isn’t any less of a United State citizen and he lives as though he would have lived over there; enjoying every benefit there is.
How much of heaven do you experience here on earth? Take a stand never to be a babe in Christ who is still in bondage under the elements of the world (Gal4:3)
CONFESSION
I am not of this world
I am no longer subjected to the elements of this world
I live a victorious life in Christ.
