Taste and See

Psalms 34:8

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

We have allowed our imagination create our own image of God. Nothing is accomplished by doing this only that we make Him no different than the gods made out of stone or wood created by human ideas and invention. This is vain and ultimately destructive.

The Psalmist said “taste and see that the Lord is good.” The implication of this shows it is first an experience before a perception. It means we discover who God is and don’t create who He is – This is the only way to know His true goodness.

It is impossible for us to create a concept of what He is like that is greater than who He really is. Hence, it is important that we discover His person and nature through our experience of us beholding Him in the Son Jesus Christ.

It is taste, and then see that the Lord is good.

CONFESSION

God is Good
I believe this and I experience His goodness
Amen!
