The Word of God Enriches and Strengthens

Devotional Reading: I am so sad that I feel very weak. Use your word to make me strong again. Psalms 119:28 EASY

Farmers use manure or fertilizer to enrich the soil, ensuring plants have the strength to withstand harsh weather. Likewise, God’s Word fortifies us against life’s storms, giving us the endurance needed to fulfill our purpose.

Without this nourishment, we become weak and easily discouraged when challenges arise. Many people start strong in their faith but fade away because they lack the deep-rooted strength that only God’s Word provides.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 describes those who trust in the Lord as “a tree planted by the waters,” unaffected by drought. Just as a well-fertilized plant draws nutrients even in dry seasons, believers who meditate on God’s Word remain steadfast even in trials. The Word strengthens our faith, giving us divine resilience when life tests us.

No matter how a marathon runner trains with proper nutrition and exercise, without consistent preparation, they will collapse before reaching the finish line. In the same way, we must regularly consume God’s Word to endure life’s challenges and complete our God-given race. When we are spiritually weak, we become vulnerable to fear, doubt, and discouragement.

Spiritual enrichment does not happen passively. It requires an active commitment to reading, studying, and obeying the Word. The more we immerse ourselves in Scripture, the more we develop the endurance to fulfill our calling. God’s Word acts as a reserve of strength, giving us wisdom and courage when we need it the most.

Prayer and Confession
God’s Word strengthens me and gives me endurance. No storm can shake me because I am firmly planted in His truth. I draw my strength from His promises, and I will not be moved by trials or challenges.
