Kingdom Lifestyle；Humility

Devotional Reading: “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” Ephesians 4:1-2 NIV

Oftentimes I get worried when all that some persons are are Christians only in writing; I mean when they needed to fill forms and there’s a column created for them to reveal what religion they practice. Christianity is a way of life and it’s expected to revolve around the entire being of the individual who claim to be one. Christians are in a class all by themselves and they live by the ultimate standard; Christ. Hence, there’s a lifestyle expected of the believer.

One of such lifestyle is being humble regardless of one’s attainment either in the spiritual or in the physical. Have you ever wondered why someone was needed to be paid to identify Christ to be crucified, despite the fact that he lived among them? Many theories might have been speculated, however the one that stands out remains, He (Jesus) lived a humble life that it became difficult many times to distinguish him from the disciples and the crowd; at least by his physical appearance. He had no special regalia on, like the Pharisees of his days who sought for recognition at all cost.

All glory to God for granting you success in your academics, in your marital life, and all endeavors of life all together. Of a truth, God has been faithful. But all of that should never stop you from living just like Christ did. Apostle Paul admonishes the Ephesians church to live completely humble, by extension this is the life you are expected to live also.

The moment you had a degree, or got that employment, you consider it a reproach to still remain in the unit you’ve been serving all along, possibly because you say to yourself, “these people are below my class.” God is calling your attention to the kingdom lifestyle, be completely humble.

Prayer and Confession
It is no longer I that lives but Christ lives in me. Hence, I walk worthy of the Lord, for he is my perfect example in all that I do. Hallelujah
