God Uses Relationships as Resources

Devotional Reading: “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9 (NIV)

Many believers underestimate how much God uses relationships to supply resources and provision. We sometimes expect blessings to fall like rain directly from heaven, but God often sends people instead. Sometimes the answer to your prayer is walking on two legs. When God wanted to lift Joseph, He used Pharaoh’s butler. When God wanted to strengthen Moses, He used Aaron. When God wanted to supply for David, He used Jonathan.

God can decide to package your breakthrough in a friend, a mentor, a colleague, or even a stranger sitting beside you in a bus who randomly starts giving unsolicited advice. God loves to use relationships because they build humility, compassion, and community.

The challenge is that many believers pray for divine supply but treat people anyhow. You cannot reject people and expect resources. Even Jesus, who could call thousands of angels, still relied on a network of women who supported His ministry from their resources. Some blessings flow faster when your relationships are healthy. Honor opens doors. Kindness attracts opportunities. Wisdom keeps connections alive. Sometimes the miracle you are waiting for is locked inside the person you have been avoiding.

A single conversation can save you years of suffering. A single recommendation can change your financial story. God positions people in your life to act as bridges to the next season. The problem is not that God has not sent helpers; many believers do not know how to steward relationships. Treat people well, invest in connections, communicate clearly, and maintain integrity. When your relationships flourish, your resources expand.

Prayer and Confession
Father, open my eyes to the people You have placed around me. Teach me to value relationships and steward them with wisdom and gratitude. Connect me with those You have ordained for my next season. Amen!
