SSalvation 101: Under The Covering of The Blood
Key Text: “And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where you are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you.” Exodus 12:13 KJV
The story of the Passover is often told with a serious tone, but when you slow down and really look at it, it is both deep and surprising. God instructed the Israelites to put blood on their doorposts. But here is the overlooked truth. God did not need the blood to recognize His people. He already knew who was an Israelite and who was not. The blood was not to help God identify them; it was to give them confidence. The blood was a sign for them, not information for God. Salvation has always been more about reassuring the believer than convincing God.
Notice something else. The Israelites were not told to examine their behavior that night. They were not asked to confess sins till morning or prove they were worthy. The instruction was simple: stay inside where the blood is. Some of them may have been afraid. Some may have doubted. Some may even have argued inside the house. But none of that mattered as long as they were under the blood. Mercy did not ask for perfection. Grace did not negotiate. Wrath did not knock on doors with blood. Judgment respected the blood.
Let us bring it home. Many believers still live as if God is standing outside their lives with a checklist, inspecting performance. But the Passover flips that idea upside down. God was not looking for good conduct; He was looking for blood. In the same way, God is not impressed by your religious activity when it comes to salvation. He is satisfied by the finished work of Christ (Good to be true, but true). The blood on the door says, “This house is covered.” Not because the people inside are flawless, but because God Himself set the standard and accepted it.
Prayers and Confession
Father, thank You that my salvation is secured by the blood of Jesus. I confess that I rest in what Christ has done, not in what I am trying to do. I choose confidence over fear and faith over performance. Amen.

Are you trusting the blood of Christ, or are you still trying to add your own efforts to feel accepted by God? What would change if you truly rested under the covering?
