You are as Jesus is 2

1 John 4:17

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Sometimes we believers live short of who we are on earth, and one of the major causes of this is our not really believing in who God has said we are, hence making us live a life full of fears and worry. Some times, the situation around us could be so tensed that we begin to doubt the validity of God’s word about our identity.

Seemingly uncontrollable personal unpleasant  experiences has made alot of people deny the truth of God’s word about there identity in Christ. For instances; some precious hearts struggling with immoral acts that has somewhat become addictions, and has had enough failures on there way to putting end to there addictions find it very difficult accepting some realities about there identities in Christ.

You know what? Folks like this find it difficult to boldy affirm that they are Holy and righteous as Jesus is. They find it difficult to boldly affirm that they are blameless and faultless, without spot or wrinkle before God. Sometimes, it gets worse to extents where they begin to doubt there sonship in God’s family. Look, as sincere as they may be, that path is a dangerous one to thread.

Beloved, God wants you to know this and settle it forever in your heart. Christianity is not about trying to do good to be good. Christianity is actually accepting goodness into your being. It is when you accept God’s goodness into your being and are consistently agreeing with God in your heart to be who He has said you are in His word, that is when you can successfully start living the Jesus life that’s in you. The truth is, as a believer in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus, either you consistently affirm your identity in Christ or not, God’s reality about you will never change. You are the one that’s not just agreeing and taking advantage of who He has made you to be.

Never give in to the temptation to deny whom God has said you are. Your victory in living the life of Jesus lies in you consistently agreeing with God’s word about you which says “as He is, so you are in this world.” It is an empowerment if you will leverage on consistently agreeing with God’s word about you even in the face of whatever.

No matter what, that’s your reality. It’s not a psych, Jesus actually  made it happen.

CONFESSION

I am forever who God says I am
I am not defined by my experiences or circumstances,
I am who He says I am,
As Jesus is, so am I in this world.
