Obedience; Pathway to Revelation
Devotional Reading: “The one who obeys me is the one who loves me; and because he loves me, my Father will love him; and I will too, and I will reveal myself to him.” John 14:21 TLB
In my little experience as a believer and as a minister of the Gospel, I’ve come to realize how so many people love to hear from God, especially in spectacular ways when in most cases their bibles have been closed for days, probably weeks. Please note at this juncture; anyone who claims to be hearing from God and never fellowship with the word (not having basic understanding of God’s word) is vulnerable to the devil.
In the later days of Jesus’ ministry on earth; while discussing with His disciples, He made it crystal clear that the one who obeys Him is the one who loves Him. That implies that the true test of whether one loves God is in our obedience. Not that alone, such individuals will enjoy God’s love and above all, He will reveal Himself to him. It will then be wise for every believer who desires to have access into God’s revelation to obey the Lord. Disobeying the Lord is to shut the door against divine revelation.
Take a moment and ask yourself, ‘do I love Jesus?’ The answer to that is rooted in your obedience, which in turns gives you access into the secret things of God. Decide today to live an obedient life; obedience to the word of God and your desire for revelation will be granted.
Prayer and Confession
I receive of the Lord as I stay in obedience to His word. Amen!
