Redeemed

Colossians 1:14
” In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”

The word “Redemption” means a release effected by a payment of ransom; and “Forgiveness” means a release from bondage, i.e a pardon for sins, letting them go has though they had never been committed.

This was what Jesus did, a wonderful blessing of grace we saints have in Christ.  It lies under the deliverance from sin, all sin, original and actual sin, of heart, lips, and life, secret and open, past, present and future, under which we were held captive in a state of nature, it also lies in non imputation of sin, a remembrance of it no more (2cor.5:19, Heb. 8:12, Heb. 10:17), a removing of it entirely out of the way, a covering and blotting it out of sight.

All this we we received IN CHRIST, through His blood, not of bulls and goats,  which cannot take away sin (Heb. 10:1-6), but of the blood of Christ, spotless without blemish, untainted with sin. THIS HE PURCHASED ETERNALLY BY HIS BLOOD

Christ shedding his blood is a proof of His love to us the redeemed, He is the ransom, we were bought (1Cor. 6:20). We joy in this, and rejoice forever.

CONFESSION

I am the redeemed of the Lord
Bought with His blood
Completely and eternally forgiven.
Amen!
