Faith-Life; Loving Unconditionally

Devotional Reading: “But I say: Love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way you will be acting as true sons of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust too.” Matthew 5:44-45 TLB

Christianity is a way of life which is beyond living by certain sets of relational rules which are only rooted in morals and good conducts. As good as those could be, they are in themselves not enough to make a man saved. Glory to God, Christianity is a life powered by the Holy Spirit. Hence, all things are possible to us that believe and are led by him.

Take a look into the life of the Disciples of Christ while he was here physically on earth. He took them through a teaching session which we referred to as the “Sermon on the Mount” today. Remember they were Jews and the Mosaic Law says they are to love their neighbors (Lev. 19:18), and by extension, the Pharisees added a second part to it, “Hate your enemy.” This has been their lifestyle until Jesus shows up to challenge it and reveal the ultimate mind and nature of God to them.

Having reminded you that the first recipient of the teaching were Jews. Also, note that at the time Christ demanded such life from them, they were without the Holy Spirit as He has not yet been given. If such a life could be expected of them who are without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, what excuse then do you think you have to not live as expected of God. It will therefore be an anomaly for you; a believer to have certain persons you hate and possibly expects the worst of them. It is not Christ-like.

Therefore, to show that you are a child of your Father; almighty God, who lives a bible based Life of faith, you are to show love to everyone regardless of race, color and creed. If God had waited for you to live right before he could show his eternal love toward you by deing for your sins, you know you will be lost forever.

Prayer and Confession
I have the spirit and nature of God in me, therefore I have the ability to love everyone regardless of their words and actions towards me.
