You Have Authority

John 14:13-14
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

It is crucial to understand the poll position of a believer. A believer is one who believes the gospel (death, burial, resurrection and Ascension of Jesus). He is born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible by the word of God. Also, A believer is not left at the cross, he actually sits in the heavenly in Christ. Eph. 2:6. You don’t have to sit at the cross always, yes! great, at the cross the sins were paid for, the cross is the place of death and shame.  But there is more behind the cross, there is the throne, the place of authority.

In the verses above, the statement Jesus made was actually a statement of authority and not really related to prayer as we might think, the Greek rendering is actually like this “Whatever you demand as your rights and privileges in my name..” it’s more like God gave out the blank cheque and then He tells you make demands of your rights and privileges because you have the authority signed in my name.

Ephesians 1:19-21, explains that the power that rose Christ from the dead is actually in us who believe and that Christ been raise was made to sit at the right hand of the father in the heavens far above principality, dominions, power and might.  Eph. 2:6 records that the same position Christ is seated you are also seated in him far above principalities, dominion, power and might.

Therefore, you can speak boldly because you have the authority, you can speak to your sickness, cast out devils, speak to your work and finances. You can demand your rights and privileges (what belongs to you) in the name of Jesus because you are seated in Christ the position of authority.

CONFESSION

I am seated with Christ the position of authority
I used my rights and privileges in Christ.
Amen!
