No Longer a Slave to Sin
Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
When we talk about grace, the first thing that comes to the mind of some people is licentiousness, making it look like Grace is an initiator of sin. But really they are being puffed up by their fleshly minds.
Actually, what strengthens sin is the law and not grace (Rom.3:20). Grace strengthens us, it enables us to say no to sin. All we need to know is this, we are stronger, we are able to say no cos God’s Spirit dwells in us. We now have the God kind of life, God’s life filled with righteousness and holiness. We are not slave to sin, we don’t serve sin. It can never be our master.
Every time you just have to remind yourself of your new identity. You are a new being, God’s child, a new creature. Christ is now your Lord directing you in meekness and with love. Grace strengthens you to leave above those faults, see yourself superior and matured, present yourself that way. You’re no longer in that level of flesh. YOU ARE A CHILD OF A GREAT GOD.
