Snow-White
Isaiah 1:18
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
The part of the world that I am, there seems to be nothing like snow and so it might be strange to me to know how really white it is. Nonetheless, wether we have seen it or not, we must have come across it in movies and know that it is really white.
The Bible Likened sin to be red, not necessarily that red is a bad colour, Isaiah used it has a figure of speech. God confronted the sins of the people of Judah and described their sin as “like scarlet” and as “red as crimson.” However, God promises that the people of Judah would be “white as snow.” To receive this promise the people needed to turn away from their wrong doing and seek for forgiveness.
Thanks be Jesus, we have permanent access to God’s forgiveness through the blood of Jesus. When we said “Yes” to the sacrifice of His son, He wiped out our sins that is a red as scarlet and red as crimson and made us white. In other words, washed us of our sins and made us clean. It also implies that God sees us as He sees Jesus – Blameless.
We don’t have to wallow in the guilt of what we’ve done wrong, instead we are to hold on to the truth of God’s forgiveness that makes us white as snow.
CONFESSION
Thank God for the blood of Jesus
I hold on the truth of God’s forgiveness
I am washed, clean and forgiven of all my sins.
Hallelujah!
