Mechanism for Living

Written by Emmanuel Kayode

Devotional Reading: “When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Now go out where it is deeper and let down your nets and you will catch a lot of fish!” (Luke 5:4)
Electricity, gravitation, thermodynamics, friction, sowing and reaping, prayer and lots more, both in the physical and in the spiritual world are all governed by principles. It takes a miracle for any of those to work outside of the proven principles established.

Our opening text reveals the travail of Simon and other professional fishermen who had labored all night and caught nothing. Also, it reveals God stepping into their case via the instrumentality of His word. The word caused an experience of net breaking harvest.

For every creature to continue to live, it must be connected to it source, else life ends. Imagine a fish trying to live outside of its habitat, I believe you know what the end will be for such fish. So also is the life of any individual who lives life outside of God’s word. Remember, “All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made” John 1:3.

In your present situation and all through your life, you need nothing other than listening to and obeying His word; It gives direction, light, confidence, peace and ends struggle as one live by assurance on God’s unfailing word. As you go out this morning, what has he told you, what word are you living by? Get his word and stick to it.

Prayer and Confession
I receive the engrafted word of God into my life and situation. It changes my life situation and the world rejoices with me for the praise and glory of His name.
