The Family Name – You Belong!

Devotional Reading: “Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of His household.” Ephesians 2:19 –

Have you ever entered a place where everyone knew each other and you felt like the lone tomato in a basket of onions? Awkward, right? Good news: in God’s kingdom, there are no outsiders. If you’re in Christ, you’re not just saved, you’re family. And family doesn’t need to knock; family walks in like they belong. Because they do.

You were never meant to live out your identity alone. God placed you in His household (His family) on purpose. That means church isn’t a club you attend, it’s a family you belong to. You carry the family name now, and that comes with love, inheritance, and, yes, even responsibility.

Part of growing in your identity in Christ is walking confidently in your belonging. You are not barely accepted—you are fully included. You’re not God’s houseguest; you’re His child. And like every child in a healthy home, you’re meant to contribute, receive, grow, and be loved on.

Don’t let past rejection or isolation stop you from enjoying your place at the table. God doesn’t do temporary relationships. He’s in it forever. So lift your head, square your shoulders, and act like someone who belongs to the King’s family. Because you do.

Prayer and Confession
I am not an outsider. I am God’s child. I belong in His family and walk daily in the full rights of sonship. Amen!
