You are Accepted in the Beloved

Ephesians 1:6 KJV

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he has made us accepted in the beloved.

We are in a world where everyone whether openly or secretly seeks for acceptance, for their is a way it adds to our esteem. There is a kind of confidence for living that fills our heart when we have an assurance of approval or acceptance from people especially those whom we highly regard. However, the fear of not being rejected by men has pushed many persons into living against their consciences and values which will eventually hinder them from enjoying life to the fullest as God desired for them. Even some because of the fear of rejection from men do things that contradicts the ways of God.

Beloved, God has not created you to live and thrive solely by the acceptance and approval of men because men can be full of sentiments and selfish gain some times. Your confidence for living should come from your knowledge of who God is and what He has accomplished for you through Christ Jesus.

Our opening text says that we have been made accepted in the beloved to the praise of God’s glory. Because you are a child of God, you are forever accepted in God. This is not in anyway based on what and what you have done or not done right but solely on what Christ has accomplished for us. God’s word says in Romans 8:1(paraphrase) that no condemnation exist for anyone who is in Christ. No greater honor or acceptance than this. It is beyond the acceptance and approval of men. A constant remembrance of this should shoot adrenaline into your soul daily.

Your confidence for living is not based on the approval of men but on your assurance of God’s approval and acceptance that we received through Christ. It’s not self confidence but God-confidence. Live confidently without being disrespectful irrespective of whether men accept and approve you or not. Christ is your confidence not man.

CONFESSION

I am forever accepted in the beloved,
Christ is my confidence.
