Jesus is Always Willing

Luke 5:13 NIV

Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.

Some times we tend to disqualify ourselves from getting help from God, perhaps because of our shortcomings thus creating by ourselves a barrier which God has not placed on our way to receiving whatsoever we desire from Him.

The story is told about a  man covered with leprousy in the gospel according to Luke 5:12-15 who met with Jesus and fell on his face to the ground begging Jesus saying: “Lord if you are willing, you can make me clean.” The next thing Jesus did was reached out his hands and touched the man saying to him “I am willing, be clean” and immediately the leprousy left the man.

The issue the man with the leprousy has was not that of whether Jesus can heal him or not. He knew Jesus had the power to heal him if He wanted to. The issue he has was, is Jesus willing to heal him of his leprousy or not? Infact it’s as though that leprous man just went to try is luck with Jesus. In his heart, he has condemned himself.

Loving Jesus, full of compassion, never looked at his doubts, reached out his hands to touching the man saying in a calm and loving manner “I am willing, be clean” and immediately the man was cleansed. Jesus could have healed him without touching him but then, here is a man that nobody has touched probably since the time he contacted the disease for it is believed that the disease is contagious by touching. Jesus not only healed him, he touched, showing him compassion. I just can’t imagine how the man would have felt that day. Jesus who is God on earth demonstrated how God will always relate with us.

Beloved, I don’t know that which you desire of the Lord, Jesus is always willing to heal you and meet whatsoever need it is that you desire of him. Don’t disqualify yourself when the Lord as not disqualified you. He is a generous God who gives without finding fault.

CONFESSION

Jesus is always willing to ….. me
He gives without finding fault.
