I’m Favoured

Psalm 5:12 NKJV

“For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield”

To be favoured is not the same as being fortunate. And favour is not circumstantial, it is not something that comes when it chooses to and go when it feels like. For a believer, being favoured is part of is inheritance. Favour is grace. We are saved by God’s favour which is His grace (Ephesians 2:7-8). Hence, the moment we believe the Sacrifice of Christ, we entered into the favoured life. We don’t seek to earn it, it is what already belongs to us –coming with the package of salvation.

The Psalmist spoke of the Righteous being blessed by the Lord. We know about what righteousness  means. It is the right to stand before God with confidence and assurance without any sense of unworthiness. And we know that those who have believed are now God’s righteousness in Christ (2Cor.5:21). Hence, since we are righteous on the basis of Christ finished work, we have the blessings the Psalmist spoke of which is WITH FAVOUR WE WILL BE SURROUNDED AS WITH A SHIELD.

Amazing isn’t it? we are not trying to earn favour, we are rather surrounded with it. We should always see ourselves wrapped in God’s favor 24 hours a day. Every morning when you get up, throw off the covers and jump out of bed saying, “I am the righteous; Lord, Your favor surrounds me like a shield.” Glory to God!

CONFESSION

I am God’s righteousness
